How to Protect your Affiliate Links without spending a fortune on software This book is for all of you Network Marketers out there. Feel free to pass it along to your downlines or give it away, just don't change anything in it. A lot of people at present who are affiliate marketers don't actually have a website of their own, this is a BIG mistake. If you have a domain of your own it is very easy to set up a domain alias, this is a way of cloaking and protecting your affiliate link, here is an example of one of my own. This is my affiliate link for the MLM Secrets series http://www.1shoppingcart.com/app/?af=824803 The problem with this? You only have to look at that link to see that it is an affiliate link, that fact alone will scare off quite a large amount of prospective customers. There are a lot of people who will take a look at it and then quite often will knock the affiliate part of the link off the end to see what the site actually is. If this happens and they buy then you have lost the profit you should have made. If you use sites such as click bank then it is VERY easy to replace the affiliate ID with another, this would obviously lose you a sale. Quite simply it looks unprofessional, having your own domain name looks much better than having someone else's link with a bunch of numbers or letters on the end. Now, a lot of people will tell you to use something like Tiny URL in order to shrink and protect your link, the problem with doing this is that people have started to realise that it is someone trying to hide their affiliate link and stay away. Take a look at the following link, it will take you to the exact same page as the affiliate link above, however it looks a lot more professional, and there is no chance of someone trying to steal the affiliate ID or taking off the link. http://mlms.best-opportunities.com Most hosts have a very simple step by step guide for you to set up these links, it takes less than a minute and can easily increase you affiliate sales by 200%
